The Joy in Tea Talk

Strange how a teapot can represent at the same time the
comforts of solitude and the pleasures of company.
~~Author Unknown~~

I'm having...Hot Chocolate on this morning after a full moon.

My teacup...is nothing special but it certainly holds the hot chocolate well!

I'm feeling... embarrassed still...I missed a luncheon date yesterday with a dear friend and I have to excuse except that I was so absorbed in what I was doing that I didn't even check the time.  What is truly embarrassing is that I didn't realize it until 4:00 p.m.

On my mind...making sure I am checking my calendar 1st think in the morning so that what happened yesterday doesn't happen again!!!!!!  This lady is a dear friend and that is what makes it so painful!

Please join Ruth at Tea Talk today.

The Joy in Tea Talk

Sometimes, during my hours of prayer, I picture myself as a piece of stone before a sculpture who intends to make a statue our of it. Presenting myself like this before the Lord, I beg him to form form in my soul his perfect image and make me wholly like Christ. ~Brother Lawrence~

I'm having...Good Earth decaf original tea.  Seems to be a perfect day to celebrate Mother Earth with this tea on this day of Season Change.

My teacup... is nearly empty but it was oh so good.

I'm feeling... glad I was able to get a lot of things done yesterday and am ready for work today!

On my mind...The busy weekend!!!  Tomorrow is Kellie's Senior Night recognition at the football game, working at Mother Teresa's Treasures on Saturday, marching band contest Saturday afternoon and then friends for dinner on Sunday!  Exciting!!!!

Please join Ruth at Tea Talk today.

~~Tea Talk~~

Tea to the English is really a picnic indoors.
Alice Walker

I'm having...Vanilla Carmel tea by Bigelow.

My teacup...my bright and cheery mug. So early I need a bit of color to waken properly.

I'm feeling...a tad tired. Last night seemed a bit short.

On my mind...is the patio area. It's needing some cleaning before we set out the patio furniture. But we're to have more rain starting this afternoon.

The flood waters are finally receding here on the Ohio River,

St. Patrick's Day Tea Talk

Wishing you a rainbow
For sunlight after showers—
Miles and miles of Irish smiles
For golden happy hours—
Shamrocks at your doorway
For luck and laughter too,
And a host of friends that never ends
Each day your whole life through!
Irish Blessing

I'm having...Irish Breakfast Tea with a slice of warm Irish Soda Bread with melted butter.  Tis the season!

My teacup...is my St. Paddy's Day mug.

I'm feeling...a bit tired this morning.  It was a busy day yesterday and I just wanted to stay in bed a bit longer.  I'm also feeling satisfied as the kitchen is coming together and my satisfaction is only increased by the wonder of finding the kitchen table so easily.  The table was only $50 as Feather Your Nest and I had only paid $5 a chair for 4 a few weeks ago at Mother Teresa's Treasures.  I guess I do have a smidgen  the the "Luck."

On my mind...looking ahead to the weekend.  Busy!  Busy!  Going to the Fish Fry at St. Joe's in the County.  Saturday and Sunday will participate in an Enneagram class.  A number of years ago I read a book on it but was never offered the opportunity to discover my personality type.  So I will this weekend!  Really looking forward to it.

~Tea Talk~

If you are cold, tea will warm you.
If you are too heated, it will cool you.
If you are depressed, it will cheer you.
If you are excited, it will calm you.
~Gladstone, 1865~

I'm having...Constant Comment tea with a bit of Splenda to sweeten the beginning of this new day.

My teacup...Is a glass of orange juice right now, but the kettle is on.

I'm feeling...excited because I was able help by sanding the drywall and I removed the wallpaper.  I decided to take it down, reluctantly, because I was it would be faded or yellowed so that what I had left from having put up would not match.  Later yesterday after I had gotten it all down I found the roll that was left.......When I compared the two, old and new, I found there was no change in color. (SIGH)  Oh, well, live and learn (still!)!!!Another of life's lessons:  Even in the zeal to be prepared, always check the wallpaper with the leftover paper.  So now, I'll be wallpaper shopping!

On my mind...What color paint do I want in the kitchen and since I like the blue plaid wallpaper, will I be able to get something like it that I like?

Wishing all a wonderful Thursday!!

~~Tea Talk~~

Tea is liquid wisdom.
~Anonymous~
I'm having...Constant Comment tea with a bit of Splenda to sweeten the beginning of this new day.

My teacup...I found this searching for something else this morning and thought it a good idea to use it.

I'm feeling...excited about the weekend.  They are finishing the wiring in the kitchen.  The drywall will be up and in place and the "mud 'n' tape" done.  I think I'll shop for paint!

 Before...

After...(and more to come)

On my mind...still is my preparation for the RCIA presentation I will give this Sunday along with the preparation for the discussion of this Sunday's scripture reading.  I always need prayer!

Wishing all a wonderful Thursday!!

Drinking a daily cup of tea will surely starve the apothecary.
~Chinese Proverb~

I'm having...Pomegranate Pizzazz herb tea With a bit of Splenda to sweeten the beginning of this new day.

My teacup...My favorite!!!

I'm feeling...disorganized.  Knowing the remodeling will begin in earnest soon, I feel the chaos of the moment...What to do next!

On my mind...is my preparation for the RCIA presentation I will give January 31 along with the preparing for the discussion of that Sunday's scripture reading.  I always need prayer!

~~Tea Talk~~

"On wings of hospitality,
she flew to brew the tea."
A Cup of Christmas Tea by Tom Hegg

I'm having...Good Earth tea. It's icy outside this morning.  Roads are awful and just waiting to see if the office will be open.

My teacup is...is a plain white mug.  But the tea in it warms the hands and heart.

I'm feeling...Warm and cozy in my kitchen, waiting to see if the office will be open after this ice storm during the night.

On my mind...visit to INDY this weekend. We are going...YEAH.  Hoping to go to the Indianapolis Children's Museum.  Oh what fun we will have!!!!!

Ornament given by Wes, Annie
and the girls.  Adapted for the
20th Anniversary of
A Cup of Christmas Tea.

Wishing all a grandday!!!  Thank you all for your hospitality and this time for tea with you all!

~~Tea Talk~~

Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas. ~Calvin Coolidge~

I'm having...Good Earth tea.  My delivery came yesterday.  Oh I have been with out it for three weeks.  That's a LONG time.

My teacup is...a Norman Rockwell mug that Hallmark produced many years ago.  I love them and use them often during Christmas.

The chocolate pecan candy is made by a neighboring parish each year
and it is oh so delicious.  There are sugar cookies topped with crushed
candy cane.  Understand that this is NOT my breakfast but only pictures
so I didn't have a photo of a lonely cup.

I'm feeling...better since I think I have licked this cold that started Saturday.  I used Zicam for cold relief and it seemed to have done the trick.

On my mind...visit to INDY this weekend.  May not come to fruition.  Weather seems to be the culprit!  Will have to wait until Friday, but it seems a big storm is on the way and it may need to be postponed!  Love to visit the kids up their and enjoy their Christmas trees!

Wishing all a grandday!!!

--Tea Talk~~

Cookies are made of butter and love.
~Norwegian Proverb

Tea Talk today serves two purposes.  First to share my morning with you and also to clarify an error in yesterday's post "Once Upon A Time Recipes."

So let's begin.

I'm having...Celestial Seasoning Cool Raspberry Black Tea  though I brewed it with hot water instead of cool water...It really is a tasty tea.

My teacup is...my favorite Christmas mug.

I'm feeling...Embarrassed because I didn't proofread the Candy Cane Recipe better yesterday.  I glad however that I decided to make a batch of cookies for Ron as a surprise.  Because of that surprise I found my "surprise."  But I think and I hope I caught it in time before anyone started to make them.

On my mind...The Candy Cane Cookie Caper and solving the mystery of too little flour in the batter.
If you have already printed the recipe just make sure you change the amount of flour to 2 1/2 cups.

The batter is easy to work with...

I use my Pampered Chef Pizza stone to roll them out on...

Lay them on the cookie sheet carefully...

I baked them for 15 minutes instead of  9 inures because
I made them larger than suggested...

Ron was surprised and so was I because though they
aren't the fanciest candy canes I ever made they really
do taste good!

Wishing you all a wonderful Tea Talk Thursday and come back next Wednesday and I'll try to proofread my Once Upon A Time Recipe post a little better.  Hoping you will stop by and share your recipes!!

~~Tea Talk and Amazing Things and Month of Thanksgiving~~

"Strange how a teapot can represent at the same time the comforts of solitude and the pleasures of company." ~Author Unknown

I'm having...Good Earth Tea. It's spicy, warm and fragrant

My teacup is...My fun polka dot mug.

I'm feeling...Tired.  Ron is getting up to go into work early (3:00 a.m.) and I can't go back to sleep.

On my mind...expectation and challenges offered at work today.

Branch Of Wisdom

"Thanksgiving dinners take eighteen hours to prepare. They are consumed in twelve minutes. Half-times take twelve minutes. This is not coincidence." - Erma Bombeck

Today my gratitude extends to my mother.  She's the one who taught me how to cook.  She taught me the love of preparing a meal for others.  She didn't, however, teach me to love CLEANING UP.

Wishing all a grand day!!  Go outside today and take in God's glory wherever you are!

~~Tea Talk and Amazing Things and Month of Thanksgiving~~

Each cup of tea represents an imaginary voyage.
~Catherine Douzel~

I'm having...Irish Breakfast Tea

My teacup is...my Halloween mug.

I'm feeling...refreshed.  I'm pretty well caught up.  Dusted and did laundry.  Finished the chapter for Bible Study tonight.  I only have to vacuum on Saturday!

On my mind..Looking forward to celebrating the 50th wedding anniversary of our friends Paul and Pat.  And having the grand kids over so Grandpa can take them trick-or-treating.

If at any day we accomplish some good here, the glory will certainly be his alone, since he has employed for his end instruments more capable of spoiling everything than of making it succeed.  ~Saint Mother Theodore Guerin~

I smiled when I read that quote for I knew she must be talking about me, too.  Some days I feel that way.  Me, the instrument, capable of spoiling almost everything and then somehow it all comes about the way it should.  He allows us to see the glory and appreciate it.  And we give honor where honor is due.

Just like last weekend as we were clearing the garden I saw these three blossoms/bud and so I clipped them off and put them in my very small teacup.

The very next day they had bloomed into these beautiful flowers.  They lasted nearly 5 days and the little owl carried them with such dignity.

Branch Of Wisdom

I find today I am grateful for the breezes the have blown. Not brisk or blustery breezes but the winds of Autumn that remind us there are changes coming.
