~~Mosaic/Macro Monday~~

I found today in the garden a beauty that is spring. The petunias are at their pinkest and the roses are most delicate. Mums mingled with the rose brings meaning to the word community. The African Daisy and the little oak sprouts are so vibrant. You'd never know it was fall, but for the changing of the trees.  And the moon last night certainly gave no hint of the season to come.  Hanging on to the beauty of the moment for as long as I can.

The other day I took a walk and try as I might I could not find a single, whole acorn.  Now I'm sure there must have been some out there but I couldn't find one.  I know the squirrels gather them but the ones I found were caps and nuts so who will gather them.  Perhaps they just broke apart when they fell from the tree.

This morning though after church, Ron found this little fella.  I think he is handsome.  He carries himself with dignity and grace.  He doesn't seem to flaunt his color.  He doesn't seem to know how happy he has made some one.

The lonely acorn
Master of his own destiny
Will be a  grand tree

~~~^j^~~~
Thanks be to God!!
Visit Mary at The Little Red House and share in the beauty offered there.   Lisa at  Macro Monday  also has much to offer.  The pictures are grand.
I would also like to remind you that Wednesday is Adventure Tour Express.  Be thinking about the adventure you would like to share on our journey together!
  4. Lovely post. Some flowers are still busy blooming here. I smiled when I read you hadn't found a *whole* acorn. I've notice that myself on my walks ... all the acorns are crushed or I find the tops only. The squirrels must be taking them away!
  5. I think you must have a little more warmth left in your autumn than we have here. I've been looking for acorns, but I think the squirrels have been ahead of me!
  6. Such a sweet taste of spring in autumn. Very pretty! May I offer the suggestion to visit Miss Sandy at Quill Cottage where you can learn what to do with all those splendid acorn caps.
  8. Your acorn is beautiful...the color so lovely. When I looked at the thumbnail, I thought it was going to be a snail...boy, was I one surprised old gal. The collection of the broken ones was so interesting with the variations of light. bouncing here and there...but that singe acorn in all of its glory was to just too pretty and special. I cannot end this without commenting on the moon...what a neat shot. Great post.
  13. Beautiful mosaic of the beautiful flowers. It is surprising what is still in flower. We were at RHS Wisley yesterday and there was lots of colour still about, see future posts this week.
    Although we have squirrels running along the fences etc,.. there are still acorns to be found on the ground, although I recently found out that the Jay bird also collects them and buries them.Have a good week, Jackie in Surrey, UK.
  16. Super photos...I love how you 'framed' them. Now as for the acorn, I must confess I've not seen one that is 'striped' like this one.
    My macro photo is questionable...is it a TREE SERPENT?
  24. The acorns here are so abundant it is difficult to walk under the oak trees. Lots of whole ones on the ground. Saw ten turkeys in the yard enjoying them!
  25. Squirrels gather them, but...
    they also bury them. And then forget where.
    You'll have an oak grove before long.
